As part of the Prologue New Play Festival, Whitewashed examines identity, privilege, and the narratives we construct in a fragmented world. The play follows Nico, a young man who has grown up without questioning his identity, as he begins to reexamine his understanding of himself and others. Through encounters shaped by societal influences, technology, and family dynamics, the story explores how personal and collective experiences intersect to form one’s sense of self.
The Prologue New Play Festival, hosted in collaboration by Prologue New Play Development Center and Believe in Next Generation at the University Café, showcases four new works from playwrights of diverse backgrounds. These plays address themes of family, nationhood, media, and gender, creating a space for multiple perspectives and cross-cultural reflections.

「白」是一種隱喻。尼可想清除那些自己身上的「髒」和「不潔」。「白」是一種特權的隱喻，只是特權很難被發現，特䩞是當我們成為多數時。在資訊碎片化的社會裡，Google和ChatGPT構築起我們的社會，但生活並不像我們告訴自己的故事，或者網路上那些看似有趣的故事。
尼可誕生了，一個在成長過程中從未懷疑過自己身份的人，他在用這個破碎素材來「洗白」的過程中開始懷疑了自己。這齣戲是一齣關於我們如何看待自己，以及我們如何成為自己「想像」的樣子。我們是否停止了思考或是去體驗別人的體驗？我們講述關於自己的故事，試圖讓無聊的生活變得有趣，但最終，這些故事是否讓我們更接近真實的「我」？
